What is a domiciliation address?
A domiciliation address is a professional address, provided by an approved center, that you use as your company's registered office. Unlike a simple PO box, it's a real, « staffed » address where your mail is received, processed and forwarded. It is recorded in the CBE and usable on all your official documents.
Home address or domiciliation address?
You can set the registered office at your home, but that address then becomes public (CBE, Belgian Gazette) and receives your business mail. A domiciliation address protects your privacy, separates professional from personal, and projects a more credible image, especially if you work from home or remotely.
Criteria for choosing a good address
Not all addresses are equal. Beyond price, look at the location and prestige of the district, the center's approval and compliance, and above all the mail services genuinely included. A good address strengthens your image while ensuring you never miss official mail.
- Location and prestige of the district
- Approved center, compliant with anti-money-laundering law
- Included mail services: reception, scanning, forwarding
- Useful options: meeting rooms, phone answering
Domiciliation address and registered office
Once chosen, the domiciliation address becomes your registered office: you record it at the CBE and use it on your invoices, contracts and materials. If you also run an activity in a specific location, that is declared as an establishment unit, separate from the office. The domiciliation address remains your official legal point of contact.
